Consultant and implementer
Helps operators modernize bounded workflows through discovery, configuration, migration, training, and evidence-based handover without retaining hidden control or overstating tool capability.
Responsibilities
- Translate operator outcomes, constraints, and risks into the smallest viable implementation.
- Make data flows, assumptions, approvals, limitations, and ownership visible.
- Leave maintainable documentation, trained owners, test evidence, and exit options.
Daily tasks
- Resolve implementation questions against approved requirements and record consequential decisions.
- Test configurations with realistic roles, exceptions, and failure conditions.
Weekly tasks
- Demonstrate working increments to operators and update risks, decisions, and adoption plans.
- Review scope against the intended operational outcome and remove unnecessary complexity.
Monthly tasks
- Assess control effectiveness, support demand, data quality, and benefits after release.
- Hand over administrative knowledge and verify client-owned recovery access.
Revenue-impacting work
- Reduce implementation risk and accelerate useful adoption without creating avoidable dependency.
- Connect investment decisions to measurable operational and member outcomes.
Member-experience work
- Include frontline and member journey evidence before changing service workflows.
- Design fallbacks so people can still receive help when systems or assumptions fail.
Repetitive administrative work
- Test evidence capture, migration reconciliation, configuration inventories, and action tracking.
- Generating draft documentation from verified configurations for owner review.
Dangerous tasks to automate blindly
- Migrating, deleting, deduplicating, or reclassifying production records without owner sign-off.
- Configuring legal, financial, identity, safety, or employment decisions from generic templates.
Stack choices
- Easiest hosted: [Client-owned hosted services configured through documented least-privilege accounts, sandboxes, exports, and approval records.](../../../stacks/generated/Client-owned hosted services configured through documented least-privilege accounts, sandboxes, exports, and approval records./)
- Hybrid: [Hosted operational systems integrated with client-controlled data, knowledge, workflow, and monitoring components.](../../../stacks/generated/Hosted operational systems integrated with client-controlled data, knowledge, workflow, and monitoring components./)
- Self-hosted: [Client-owned self-hosted services deployed with reproducible configuration, recovery tests, observability, and named maintainers.](../../../stacks/generated/Client-owned self-hosted services deployed with reproducible configuration, recovery tests, observability, and named maintainers./)
KPIs
- Acceptance criteria demonstrated with normal, exception, and recovery scenarios.
- Reconciled migration results and unresolved exceptions accepted by accountable owners.
- Client administrators able to operate, recover, and exit without consultant-only access.
30-day improvement plan
- Observe the workflow and define outcome, baseline, boundaries, owners, and stop conditions.
- Prototype with representative non-production data and judgment-heavy exceptions.
- Pilot with a small user group, parallel checks, and a documented fallback.
- Transfer ownership only after reconciliation, recovery, training, and risk acceptance.
Implementation owner: Client-appointed product owner, with the consultant accountable for transparent delivery and handover.
When to get expert help
- The change touches regulated decisions, active incidents, unsafe systems, or material financial records.
- No competent client owner can accept risk, administer the result, or execute recovery.
